Why you should book both maternity & Newborn photos |Spokane Newborn Photographer
I often get asked “do people actually book both maternity and newborn sessions with you or do they only book one?” My husband and I were having a conversation about this and he said “I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t book both with you, they’re missing half the experience if they don’t” And he was exactly right. While most of my clients DO book both maternity and newborn photos with me, I’ve decided it’s important for me to cover the topic of why it’s a good idea to book both.
1.CAPTURE THE WHOLE SEASON.
For starters, you are capturing the whole season when you book both maternity and newborn photos. Booking one without the other feels a little bit incomplete. I’ve never met a mother who didn’t wish she had more photos of both seasons with each of her children. Your baby in the future will wonder what did mom look like when she was pregnant and what did I look like when I was a newborn? We all have a deep desire to know where we came from, it’s a huge part of the human experience. Having photos of both seasons in valuable to everyone.
2.GAIN TRUST IN YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER.
By booking both maternity and newborn photos, especially with the same photographer you are building your confidence in your photographer. Every session that I do with a family gets better and better, not because of me, but because the client gets more comfortable with me and being in front of the camera. It’s unbelievably important to trust your photographer before inviting them into your postpartum space, so by having maternity photos taken in a less vulnerable setting, you are getting to know, like, and trust your photographer before your new baby is here.
3.CELEBRATE WITH YOUR FAMILY.
Photos are a great way to celebrate your new baby with your family. Maternity photos capture the excitement and anticipation of the season before the new baby arrives and newborn photos capture the new baby and all the love your family has grown for that new baby. Like I said above, having confidence in your photographer is important for you and your family, so having both sessions allows your family to get comfortable with your photographer before your newborn photo session when everything is a little more vulnerable.
4.SAVE ON COST.
I can’t speak for all photographers, but I can speak for me in that booking both maternity and newborn photos together saves on cost. I offer a bundle discount with cuts the cost of the maternity photos in half when booking both sessions together. I believe so deeply that both maternity and newborn photos are very important to have for each baby, so I offer a discount to encourage you to book both for yourself. You can learn more about this here.
5.All your photos in one album.
One more benefit to booking both maternity and newborn photos together is that I put all of your photos from both sessions into one album together. The album is a beautiful hardcover book with high quality printed pages. My albums are sourced through the best in the photography industry for prints. I like to look at it as a baby book that you didn’t have to make yourself. The pictures tell the whole story and it makes a beautiful heirloom from the season for you to enjoy for many generations. There’s even space in it to write your baby a letter for the future or save special details like birthweight and time. it really is a very special book and it’s included with your session fee, so no extra charge and I do all the work for you.
If this post didn’t convince you that you need both maternity and newborn photos, I don’t know what will. If you’re ready to book, you can start that process here.
